BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama A&M University freshman forward Brea Bailey was selected the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Soccer Newcomer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
 
Bailey played in two matches as Alabama A&M went 1-1 during the week. She recorded one shot on goal, which was the game-winning goal in the 88^th minute as the Bulldogs held off Southern, 2-1, on Sunday.
 
Jackson State's Caylah Williams and Southern's Nyeemah Prescod-Beckles shared the SWAC's Offensive Player of the Week honor, while JSU's Sarah Portis earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Taylor Osborn, of Jackson State, was named the SWAC's Goalkeeper of the Week.
 
Alabama A&M returns to action on Thursday as the Bulldogs visit Alcorn State. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. from Key City Park.
