THE HILL | Alabama A&M University Athletics has named football wide receiver Jaylan Bean and women's volleyball student-athlete Cherrish Robinson as the Dawgs of the Week, recognizing their contributions to Bulldog athletics.

Junior wide receiver Jaylan Bean continues to make an impact for the Bulldogs with his explosive playmaking ability. The Dallas, Texas, native delivered a standout performance in Alabama A&M's 61-31 Homecoming victory over Grambling State, recording 10 receptions for a career-high 240 yards and four touchdowns.

Bean's four-touchdown performance featured scoring receptions of 61, six, 67 and 19 yards, helping Alabama A&M improve to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play. His performance also earned him HBCU Co-Player of the Week honors.

Through eight games this season, Bean has recorded 34 receptions for 577 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 72.1 receiving yards per game.

Sophomore middle blocker Cherrish Robinson delivered a strong performance for the Alabama A&M women's volleyball team last week, contributing on both sides of the net. Robinson recorded seven kills and a team-high three block assists in the Lady Bulldogs' straight-set victory over Jackson State on Oct. 16. She also added three kills and three block assists in Alabama A&M's sweep of Mississippi Valley State on Oct. 18, helping the Lady Bulldogs secure back-to-back Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) victories.

Robinson has recorded 27 kills and 12 total blocks this season, including four blocks against Prairie View A&M on Oct. 9. 

The Dawgs of the Week are selected weekly through a vote by the Alabama A&M Athletics staff.
