THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University men's tennis team secured their first home victory against Austin Peay on Saturday afternoon, 4-3, at the AAMU Tennis Courts. The Bulldogs are now 1-6 overall in the season.
AAMU grabbed the doubles point and claimed victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions to take the early advantage.
The Bulldogs took that momentum into singles competition, highlighted by Arnav Pathange's victory at the No. 1 position. After falling in the opening set, Pathange battled back to secure the win, (0-6, 7-5, 6-0). Following up close after was Yin Chih Lan at the No. 2 spot collecting a (2-6, 0-6) singles sweep.
Juwan Bae added another key point with a two-set triumph at No. 4 singles, (6-2, 6-6).
The match-clinching point came at No. 5 singles, where Eduardo de Benedictis Andreta rallied secure a decisive win, (5-7,4-7) and seal the team victory.
Alabama A&M's resilience in today's match proved to be the difference as the Bulldogs overcame the early deficit to earn the 4-3 decision.

Alabama A&M 1-7 will head to Tuscaloosa, Alabama on March 1st to face Arkansas. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
