THE HILL | Alabama A&M University head coach
Sam Shade announced 39 student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday to continue their athletic careers at AAMU, including 30 mid-year signees.
Shade landed 21 offensive players, including seven offensive lineman, six wide receivers, six tights, two quarterbacks and one running back. On the defensive side, the Bulldogs signed six defensive backs, six defensive linemen and two linebackers. In addition, Shade inked three athletes.
"Today represents a major step forward for our program," Shade said. "Signing 39 student-athletes speaks to the belief these young men have in our vision and the direction of Alabama A&M football. This class brings size, speed, depth, and character, and we're excited about the impact they'll have both on the field and in the classroom."
Alabama A&M will open Spring Practice beginning on Friday, March 6 and will conclude with the annual Maroon and White Spring Game on Saturday, April 11 at Louis Crews Stadium. The Bulldogs begin the regular season on Saturday, Aug. 29 in the annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge as AAMU takes on Howard at Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta, Ga.
