Olisa Akonobi, a 2023 graduate from AAMU, plays professionally in the NBA G League. In Rio Grande Valley Vipers' 117-106 victory over the Austin Spurs, Akonobi contributed six points, five boards and two blocks in 20 minutes. This season, he is averaging 4.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.
Xavier Brewer, who graduated in 2023 from Alabama A&M, has been making waves in the professional basketball scene in Malta. In a 101-83 loss to Starlites, Brewer registered a double-double of 31 points and 12 rebounds, along with three assists in 37 minutes for Luxol. Brewer currently is averaging 23.6 points (third best in the league), 10.8 boards (second best) and 2.7 assists in nine games.
