THE HILL | Alabama A&M volleyball opened its 2026 campaign with a 3-0 exhibition victory over Clark Atlanta on Friday night inside the AAMU Event Center.
The Bulldogs controlled the match from start to finish, earning the sweep with set victories of 25-17, 25-12 and 25-17.
Alabama A&M finished with 36 kills while hitting .314 as a team. The Bulldogs improved offensively throughout the match, posting hitting percentages of .259, .316 and .375 across the three sets. Defensively, AAMU held Clark Atlanta to a -.027 hitting percentage and just 16 kills.
Preseason SWAC Player of the Year Rayishon Jackman led the Bulldogs with eight kills on a .333 hitting percentage while adding six digs and a service ace. Isabella Fleurima contributed five kills and hit .375 in one set of action.
Carys Sanabria finished with four kills on six attempts for a .500 hitting percentage, along with three block assists and five digs. Amya Jennings also recorded three kills and three block assists.
Ivy Maxwell and Kaydee Smith directed the offense with 12 assists each, while Briana Smith added eight. Maxwell also registered two of Alabama A&M's seven service aces.
Defensively, Kelani Talakai led the Bulldogs with seven digs. AAMU held advantages in kills (36-16), digs (40-20), service aces (7-2) and total blocks (6-3).
