Four Bulldogs Named to Phil Steele SWAC Preseason Teams

THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University football team had four members selected on Monday to the annual 2026 Phil Steele Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) All-Conference Teams.
 
Linebacker Wyatt Wright, punt returner Jordan Chambers-Smith and kicker David Faulk were selected to the first team, while defensive lineman Arenza Davis was chosen to the second team.
 
Wright, a SWAC First Team selection, registered 72 total tackles, including 34 solo stops. He posted 6.0 tackles for a loss of 28 yards, along with three sacks, one forced fumble, one quarterback hurry and one interception.
 
Chambers-Smith, who received SWAC Second Team honors, caught 24 passes in 12 games last season for 282 yards, along with a pair of touchdowns. He averaged 23.5 yards per game and 11.8 yards per catch. Chambers-Smith was big in special teams and returned 13 punts for 114 yards, averaging 8.7 yards per return. He returned a season-best return of 29 yards in a victory over Lane College. In addition, to the 29-yard punt return against the Dragons, Chambers-Smith also had a kickoff return of 24 yards.
 
Faulk, who was named to the SWAC First Team, took over the kicking duties on Sept. 20 and went 10-for-12 in field goal attempts, including going 4-for-4 from between 40-to-49 yards. He booted a career-best 47-yarder at Bethune-Cookman. On extra points, Faulk was 18-of-19 in attempts.
 
Davis, who received SWAC First Team recognition, saw action in 11 games last season for the Bulldogs, where he posted 31 total tackles, with 10 of them coming as solo stops. He had five for a loss of 31 yards, including a pair of sacks. In addition, he finished with four quarterback hurries.
 
Fall Schedule
The Bulldogs open the 2026 season on the national stage with the 2026 Cricket Wireless MEAC/SWAC Challenge against Howard at Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. on Saturday, Aug. 29. The first home game is a week later (Sept. 5) as Alabama A&M plays host to Miles College in the 16th Annual Louis Crews Classic. 
 
Classic Games
Alabama A&M will play in five signature games this season, starting with the MEAC/SWAC Challenge on Aug. 29 against Howard. A week later, the Maroon & White will play host to Miles College in the 16th Annual Louis Crews Classic. The Bulldogs will look to make it two straight in The Legacy Series when AAMU host Tennessee State on Sept. 12. Alabama A&M faces Jackson State in the Gulf Coast Challenge on Oct. 3 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. and conclude the classic games with the 84th Annual Magic City Classic on Oct. 31 at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala.
