Zachary Cooper each recorded top-five finishes as the Alabama A&M University men's cross country team placed second at the Legacy Series Invite on Friday night at John Hunt Park.

The Bulldogs finished with 44 points, just 12 points behind team champion Tennessee State, which totaled 32. Alabama A&M edged Calhoun Community College, which finished third with 47 points. Mississippi Valley State (116) and Miles (121) rounded out the five-team field.

Moreno paced Alabama A&M over the 5K course, placing third overall with a personal-best time of 17:18.5. Cooper followed closely behind, finishing fourth in a season-best 17:32.8.

Micah Harris gave the Bulldogs three runners among the top seven, crossing the finish line seventh with a personal-best time of 17:47.7.

Caleb Roberts was Alabama A&M's fourth finisher, placing 13th overall with a season-best 18:55.1, while junior
Corey Harris completed the Bulldogs' scoring five with a personal-best 19:21.1 to finish 17th.

Alabama A&M returns to the course on Friday, Sept. 18 as the Bulldogs compete in the Southern Showcase at John Hunt Park. Action begins at 8:30 a.m.
