HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Senior
Zachary Cooper paced the Alabama A&M University men's cross country team Friday morning at the Southern Showcase at John Hunt Park.
Competing in the Men's 8K Open, Cooper was the first Bulldog across the finish line, placing 130th overall with a time of 29 minutes, 23.5 seconds. Freshman
William Moreno followed in 141st place, clocking 29:38.6.
Junior
Micah Harris rounded out Alabama A&M's finishers, crossing the line in 29:49.4 to place 150th overall.
The Bulldogs also had juniors
Caleb Roberts and
Corey Harris entered in the race, but neither recorded a finish.
The Southern Showcase Men's 8K Open featured more than 200 competitors, with Union (Tenn.) senior Aaron Fynaardt capturing the individual title in 25:07.4. Pima Community College's Kallen McCracken was the top collegiate scoring finisher behind Fynaardt, taking third overall in 25:38.6.
Alabama A&M returns to the course on Friday, Oct. 3 as the Bulldogs compete in the Louisville Classic. Action begins at 9 a.m.
