BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama A&M goalkeeper Adriana Durango was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Durango earned the honor after delivering a strong performance in the Bulldogs' 1-1 draw against East Texas A&M on Thursday. The sophomore played all 90 minutes in goal, recording eight saves while allowing just one goal.
The West Palm Beach, Florida, native helped Alabama A&M withstand 18 shots from the Lions and preserve the draw with six second-half saves.
Durango and the Bulldogs return to action Thursday, Sept. 17, when they host Morehead State on the Hill. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
