THE HILL | Alabama A&M women's soccer battled North Florida to a 1-1 draw Thursday afternoon at the AAMU Soccer Field.

After a scoreless opening half, the Bulldogs wasted little time breaking through after the restart. Czaske Deane found the back of the net in the 48th minute, scoring unassisted to give Alabama A&M a 1-0 advantage. The goal was Deane's second of the season.

The Bulldogs protected the lead deep into the second half behind a determined defensive effort. Goalkeeper Alexa LeDuff played all 90 minutes and recorded a save, while the Alabama A&M defense added a team save in the 76th minute to keep the Ospreys off the board.

North Florida applied pressure late and drew level in the 87th minute when the Osprays scored an unassisted goal. Neither side found a winner in the remaining minutes, sending the match to a 1-1 final.

Alabama A&M finished with seven shots, placing two on goal. Deane led the Bulldogs with three attempts, while Moriah Watkins recorded the team's other shot on target. Amelia Barber, Renee Miller and Anita Frederick-Sigaran also registered shots.

The Bulldogs will remain on the Hill to face off against Middle Tennessee on Sunday, September 6 at 1 p.m. on AAMU Soccer Field.
