A Student-Athlete Guide to Mental Wellness

WHAT IS THE ZONE?

The Zone is Alabama A&M Athletics’ digital wellness platform designed to help Bulldog student-athletes manage stress, check in on their well-being and build mental skills that support success in competition, the classroom and everyday life.

HOW THE ZONE CAN SUPPORT YOU

  • Check in privately on your mood, stress and recovery.
  • Find resources for performance anxiety, sleep, confidence, identity and other challenges.
  • Explore wellness content tailored to how you are feeling.
  • Recognize when additional support may help and connect with appropriate campus wellness resources.

GET STARTED

  • Mobile: Search for “The Zone Wellness” in the App Store or Google Play.
  • Student-athletes: Follow the onboarding instructions provided by Alabama A&M Athletics to access your account.
  • Staff web access: app.itsthezone.com.

RESOURCES FOR BULLDOGS

  • Student-athlete onboarding guide
  • Coach and staff onboarding materials
  • Staff reference guide and coach best practices
  • Alabama A&M campus counseling and wellness services — ask Athletics wellness staff for the current contact and referral information.

WHAT DO CHECK-IN TRENDS SHOW?

  • You can review your own personal check-in trends over time.
  • The source document describes team-level aggregate trends for approved wellness staff, not individual athlete responses for coaches.
  • Trends can help identify periods of increased stress or reduced recovery and guide timely support.

YOUR PRIVACY MATTERS

The supplied program overview describes individual check-ins as confidential and says coaches do not see individual responses. Confirm the current platform privacy notice, access permissions and any exceptions with Athletics wellness staff before distributing this guide.

BULLDOG STRONG MEANS TAKING CARE OF YOUR MIND, TOO.
