Alabama A&M's offensive shooting woes continued Monday night as the Bulldogs hit just 22.0 percent from the floor at Auburn. Conversely, the Tigers hit 52.5 from the field, including nine three-point baskets in an 82-40 victory for the hosts at Beard-Eaves Memorial Colesium. Trant Simpson led the way for Alabama A&M with 15 points in a game that was the final non-conference contest of the season for the Bulldogs.

The Tigers opened the game quickly, and Alabama A&M never recovered. The Bulldogs fought to within six points late in the second half, but Auburn answered with a 12-point advantage run to close the first half with a 46-28 lead.

The second half was dominated by the Tigers as A&M managed just 12 points in the period.  Alabama A&M shot just 13 percent from the field in the second half.

Alabama A&M head coach Vann Pettaway summed up his team's play on the night...

"I thought we would show up and play a lot better.  We didn't do a very good job of shooting the basketball. Our minds were not in it with the holiday layoff."

You have to give Auburn credit.  They just played with more energy than we did."

"I thought our team was ready early today, but the team that I saw in shootaround didn't show up tonight."
