Bulldogs Extend Win Streak to Four

A&M cruised through the Alabama Invitational Tournament

The Alabama A&M volleyball team extended its win streak to four as they won three games this weekend at the Alabama State Invitational Tournament. The Bulldogs defeated South Carolina State, Southern, and Bethune Cookman. With the wins, A&M improves to 4-6 on the season. The team is back in action on Sept. 15 when it travels to Livingston, Ala. to face West Alabama for a 7 p.m. contest.

As a team, the Bulldogs killed 50-of-107 to finish with a .327 hitting percentage. Natalie Rodriguez assisted on 46 of those kills. Karensa Beckford led the offensive effort by going 15-for-28 for a .500 percentage. Madinah Abdullah had 11 kills and two aces. Rose Corneille led the defense with 14 digs.

The Bulldogs dominated the Jaguars throughout the match as they held Southern to just a .022 hitting percentage. For A&M, Clarissa Moore went 9-for-18 to finish with a .389 hitting clip. The team went 32-for-78 for a .256 hitting percentage.

Beckford and Moore led the A&M attack by going 10-for-17 and 12-for-24, respectively. Rodriguez assisted on 30-of-34 total Bulldog kills. Corneille tallied 11 digs for A&M.

The Bulldogs will face West Alabama on Sept. 15 at 7 p.m.
