Normal, AL – The Alabama A&M Lady Bulldogs gave a valiant effort in a 3-1 defeat to Troy University on Wednesday night in the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium. The Trojans defeated the Lady Bulldogs 25-11, 23-25, 25-12 and 25-19 for a three games to one defeat.

Clarissa Moore led Alabama A&M with nine kills while Courtney Jenkins and Karensa Beckford each had eight. Ashley Forman led the team with 15 assists.  Rose Corneille posted a game high 19 digs, along with Beckford who tallied 13 for the Maroon & White.

Troy was led by Devin Von Pingle's game-high 15 kills while Brittany McClelland and Natasha Kolunija added 13. Megan Henderson had a game-high 43 assists while Courtney Cohen led the team with 14 digs.

A&M will host Jackson State University in their home SWAC opener on Friday, October 12 at 6:00 pm.  It will be Dig Pink night on” The Hill” in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Head coach Nedra Brown asks everyone to wear pink in remembrance of all the breast cancer survivors.
