TUSCALOOSA -- The Alabama A&M men's basketball team evened its record at 2-2 following a 76-50 loss to the University of Alabama at Coleman Coliseum.
Alabama A&M was held scoreless for over eight minutes in the game's first stanza while the Crimson Tide held more than a two-to-one rebounding advantage. Guards Cornelius Hester led Alabama A&M with 15 points while Casey Cantey scored 12.
The Bulldogs were outscored 40-22 in points in the paint, 16-13 in points off turnovers and 18-7 in second chance points. A&M held the lead with 19:32 on the clock in the first half by three but the Tide resumed control of the ball game and never looked back. Alabama out-scored the Maroon & White 24-19 in bench points and with 10:24 left in the game held a 31 point lead over A&M.
Up next, Alabama A&M hosts Martin Methodist College Saturday, December 7, at Elmore Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
