NORMAL - The Alabama A&M Lady Bulldogs volleyball team completed the regular season with a three set sweep of Mississippi Valley State University 25-18, 25-15, and 25-15 on Monday evening at the T. M. Elmore Gymnasium.
The Lady Bulldogs pick up their 12th win of the season and await the start of the 2010 Southwestern Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament next Thursday in Montgomery, Alabama. A&M enters the November 18-20th tournament as the three-time defending SWAC volleyball champions who will be looking for their tenth in eleven years when the competition kicks off in nine days.
Sophomore Clarissa Moore led the way with a game high 11 kills and four digs. As a team A&M powered past the Devilettes in kills 36-26. After their third and final game Courtney Jenkins finished with nine kills, while fellow seniors Rose Corneille collected 17 digs and Amie Goodwin contributed three kills and two service aces.
The Maroon & White will use the next nine days to prepare to defend their championship run in their conference rival’s hometown.
