Huntsville, Ala. ---- First responders and other emergency/crisis personnel will be recognized by a special Thursday “Community Night” football game in their honor at
Alabama A&M University Thursday, October 13, at 6:30 p.m. in Louis Crews Stadium.
To show appreciation to the men and women whose tireless efforts helped to sustain the
Tennessee Valley community during and beyond the
April 27 tornado disaster, AAMU officials are inviting numerous levels of emergency and disaster personnel to their own game night to witness the Bulldogs take on the Tigers of
Texas Southern University.
Courageous emergency personnel from throughout
Huntsville and the
Madison County vicinity, along with their families, will be invited to the football game, which is scheduled to be televised on ESPN-U.
The list also includes emergency management staff, fire and medical personnel, National Guard, soldiers and Marines stationed at Redstone Arsenal, members of the print and broadcast media, and other first responders with the proper credentials. Presentation of ID/CAC card should be presented at the “Heroes Gate” located on the visitors’ side of Louis Crews Stadium. A special presentation will be made to the honorees during the half-time observance of the football game.
As part of the “Community Night,” honorees will get in free with work identification, and family members can purchase an advance ticket for $10 by calling the AAMU Ticket Office and asking for the “Community Night” special admission ticket by
Wednesday, October 12.
