Clarksville - A hot-shooting night for the Alabama A&M women's basketball team with an 80-68 non-conference win over Austin Peay State University, on Wednesday night at the Dunn Center.

Whiquitta Tobar led all scorers with 26 points, making 11-of-12 at the free-throw line. Jasmine Sanders added 19 and NaDra Robertson chipped in 18, both season highs.

Alabama A&M finished the game shooting 49.1 percent (27-of-55) of its field goals.

After the Lady Bulldogs (5-4) switched to a man-to-man defense it changed the desired effect as the Lady Govs did not score for the next four minutes. A&M used that brief lapse to score seven straight points and took a 15-9 lead with 13:26 left in the first half.

Every game this season, Tobar scored in double figures, which brings her total to 33 for her career.

The Lady Bulldogs, will wrap up its non-conference slate when they return to action after the Christmas break. The Altherias Warmley lead squad travels to Champaign, IL to take on Big Ten opponent, the University of Illinois for a 7:00 p.m., tip.
