Volleyball takes on Jackson State

NORMAL – The Alabama A&M women's volleyball team will travel on Tuesday, Oct. 15th to Jackson, MS to take on the defending SWAC champion Jackson State Lady Tigers.

Action is set for 7 p.m. at the T.B. Ellis Gymnasium.

Senior Clairissa Moore leads A&M with 3.76 kills per game, while junior Bianca Richardson posts 2.01 kills and junior Mariah Brown has 2.01. Junior Ashley Forman has dished out 8.72 assists per game, and 2.5 digs a game.

On defense, Rebecca Cortez averages a squad-high 2.67 digs per set. Leslie Ekpe is strong at the net with a Lady Bulldogs-best 0.68 blocks per set.

A&M leads in the Eastern Division standings with a 3-0 record. Jackson State is currently behind them with a 2-0 conference record and 12-11 overall mark.

Christine Edwards leads Jackson State with 3.64 kills per game.

Last time these two teams met, was in the 2011 SWAC Championship match, when Jackson State knocked off the Maroon and White 3-1 ending A&M’s chance for their fifth straight conference crown.
