ALCORN STATE -- Alabama A&M defeated the Alcorn State Lady Braves in a season series sweep, 3-0 on Monday night, 25-11, 25-15, and 25-13.
Clairissa Moore had a game high of 10 kills on 13 attempts with one error. Teammate Leslie Ekpe recorded seven on the night. Ashley Forman had a game high 25 assists on the night.
A&M led in two sets. Alcorn, however took its first and only 5-4 lead against the Lady Bulldogs in the third match. In set two the Maroon and White had a blistering hitting percentage of .600 with 10 kills on 15 attempts.
Ekpe and Bianca Richardson led the Lady Bulldogs in blocks both totaling six a piece.
With the win A&M improves to 6-15 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
Up next, the Maroon and White will end its five game road trip in Itta Bena, MS against Mississippi Valley State on Tuesday, October 23rd. First volley against the Devilettes is slated for 6 p.m.
