Women's volleyball defeats Mississippi Valley 3-1

Itta Bena - Mississippi Valley took A&M to four sets, however the defense of the Lady Bulldogs was enough to defeat the Devilettes three games to one.

The Lady Bulldog’s Clairissa Moore and Mariah Brown each led in double figures with 16 and 11 respectfully. Moore totaled 32 attacks and accomplished a hitting percentage of .312. Brown recorded a double digit night with 11 digs.

The first two sets saw the Lady Bulldogs in complete control until the third match. Valley took its first lead of the game 5-4. Both teams went back and forth until MVSU extended the lead to 16-14. Valley posted errors in the remaining set which allowed A&M to cut the lead 22-24. Valley would eventually take the third set 25-22

The fourth set saw the Lady Bulldogs crank up their defense to block Valley’s attempts at the net. Valley then loss its composure and fell in the fourth set 25-12.

AAMU out-blocked Mississippi Valley State University 24 to 14 in four games.

Up next the Lady Bulldogs will host the Lady Rams of Albany State University on Thursday, October 25^th, in the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium with first volley set for 7 p.m.
