A&M to Host Tennessee State in Volleyball

NORMAL -- The Lady Bulldogs will square off against the Lady Tigers of Tennessee State University in the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium on Tuesday, October 30th, at 7 p.m.

On the season, the Lady Bulldogs are anchored by senior outside hitter Clairissa Moore, who has been a huge threat offensively at the net. The Houston, Texas, native tops the team in multiple categories, with 313 kills, and 18 services aces. In addition, Moore is third on the team with 163 digs.

Contributing to the success of Moore is junior Ashley Forman who has dished out a total of 737 out of the Lady Bulldogs 820 total assists. Junior transfer outside hitter, Bianca Richardson, has also had a strong offensive presence for A&M with 163 kills averaging 2.04 per game.

Showing her strength on the net and contributing to the consistent blocking game is junior Leslie Ekpe with the team-high of 69.

As a team, AAMU has amassed 1,068 kills, averaging 12.87 per set, while dropping in 96 service aces. Defensively, they have notched 1,013 digs and 125 blocks.

Tennessee State volleyball team's winning streak ended at four matches with a 3-1 (25-21, 15-25, 22-25, 25-27) loss to Austin Peay at home last week.

Junior setter Erika Moss paced the Lady Tigers (14-11) with 44 assists which was her second consecutive 40-plus assist match.

Offensively, three Lady Tigers ended in double-figures in kills with Naomi Wells leading the way with 21. Fellow sophomore Rachel Ambroch tallied 16 and freshman Lindsay Hornsby had 11.
