A&M Volleyball Falls to the TSU Tigers, 3-0

Normal - NORMAL - The Alabama A&M volleyball team dropped its final non-conference match of the season on Tuesday, losing to Tennessee State, 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, and 25-20).
 
The Lady Bulldogs relied on the offensive efforts of seniors Clairissa Moore and Mariah Brown, who finished the contest with 13 and seven kills, respectively. Contributing to the offensive effort with 23 assists was junior Ashley Forman. Brown added eight digs to the defense, followed by Mary Aponte who finished with seven.
 
After dropping the first set, AAMU could not find their offensive edge as the squad hit .107 with nine kills and six errors on 28 attempts. The Tigers suffered a decline in their offensive effort as well, with 11 kills and seven errors on 26 attempts. Nonetheless, TSU commanded the set and raced to a 25-18 win with two lead changes and three ties.

In the third and final set, A&M refueled its offensive fire refusing to end the match without a fight. The two squads battled through two lead changes and seven ties.

A Maroon and White kill from junior Bianca Richardson tied the game at 8-8 then the two teams went point-for-point until the Tigers pulled ahead 21-18 and went on a 4-2 run to close out the game with a final score of 25-20.

Lindsay Hornsy led the Tennessee State offense with 13 kills, while Naomi Wells added nine kills to the win. Tiger setter Erika Moss collected 34 of the 39 assists.

The final home game of the season will take place on November 1st as the Lady Bulldogs host the defending SWAC champion Jackson State University.  First volley is 7 p.m.
