NORMAL – Alabama A&M senior leader, Casey Cantey, scored 15 points including a three pointer with eight seconds left that ignited the Bulldog faithful in Elmore gymnasium Saturday night.  Unfortunately it was not to be as Grambling State’s Quincy Robert scored 32 points to lead the Tigers over A&M.

The second half looked similar to the first with the Tigers and Bulldogs keeping the game close.  A&M once again jumped out to a seven point lead their largest during the game but was unable to hold on allowing GSU to tie the score multiple times.

As the clock ran down Grambling jumped out to a 61-57 lead with 1:15 remaining.  Cantey then hit one of his biggest threes of his four year career giving the Bulldogs a 63-61 advantage.  On the ensuing inbound the Tiger’s Quincy Roberts got the ball at mid court and dribbled his way into the A&M lane banking a shot off the glass tying the game and sending it into overtime.

In only their second extra session of the year the Bulldogs would get out-scored 12-9 falling in their 20th contest of the year.
Diamon Alexander the only other senior playing in his final contest in Elmore saw six minutes of action while pulling in two boards and a block.

The Bulldogs (7-20, 5-13) were led by Jeremy Crutcher with 20 points and Demarquelle Tabb with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Casey

Cantey added 15 points and Justin Banks had 13 rebounds a career high for Alabama A&M, which lost its third straight and seventh out of the last eight.
