AAMU to host Alcorn in SWAC opener and Voter registration drive

NORMAL - The Lady Bulldogs will host conference rival Alcorn State University in their first SWAC home contest of 2012. The event has been deemed Get Up and Vote registration campaign.

A&M (1-15, 0-0 SWAC) is coming off a 3-1 loss at Tennessee-Martin. Senior Clairissa Moore led the Maroon & White with 11 kills while Rebecca Cortez recorded 15 digs.

The Get Up and Vote campaign is for students at Alabama A&M University and its fans to register to vote in the upcoming presidential election. Voter registration cards will be available to fill out before, during and after the game.

2012 is a critical election year for our nation and the State of Alabama.

Leading the team and conference is Moore with 176 kills in 49 games. The Houston native averages 3.59 kills per game. Ashley Forman leads the conference and team in assists with 402. Forman averages 7.88 per game.

Alcorn State comes in with a 1-12 record. Their only win of the season came on Sept. 8^th when they defeated Rust College.

The game will be played at Elmore gymnasium with first volley set for 7 p.m.
