A&M Volleyball Defeats Alcorn In Three Sets

Normal - It did not take much for the Alabama A&M University volleyball team to send the Alcorn State Lady Braves home 3-0, on Friday night to snap a four game losing streak.
 
The Lady Bulldogs (2-15, 2-0 SWAC) swept Alcorn (1-13, 0-2 SWAC) in front of 154 fans 25-16, 25-8, 25-8.
 
With 14 kills from Clairissa Moore, 12 kills from Bianca Richardson, Alcorn State proved to be no match for the Maroon and White.
 
Overall the Lady Bulldogs out hit the Lady Braves .413 to .013.
 
Set one saw seven ties before Ashley Forman recorded her first kill of the game to give the Lady Bulldogs the lead at 10-9. AAMU tallied a .242 attack percentage compared to Alcorn’s .000 for the set.
 
In set two AAMU unleashed its power as they served up 10 consecutive points to increase its lead to 20-5, before taking the set.
 
A&M made adjustments in the third set to cut down errors, and went on to finish Alcorn 25-8 to complete the sweep.
 
Up next AAMU will host intra-state conference rival Alabama State University on Thursday, September 27, at 7 p.m. in the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium.
