A&M Volleyball to be featured as SWAC-TV game of the week

NORMAL – The Maroon and White volleyball team will hit the road for a mid-week match at Jackson State this Wednesday, October 30, at 7 p.m. The match will be played at the T.B. Ellis Gymnasium on the campus of Jackson State University.

This game will be featured on the SWAC-Digital Network as the Game of the Week.

Senior Leslie Ekpe leads A&M with 2.04 kills per game, while sophomore Kyanna Sales posts 1.98 kills and junior Savannah Blackiston has 1.92. Senior Ashley Forman has dished out 7.58 assists per game and 2.1 digs a game.

On defense, Rebecca Cortez averages a squad-high 2.68 digs per set. Ashundria McNeal is strong at the net with a Lady Bulldogs-best 0.68 blocks per set.

This is a pivotal SWAC Eastern Division Championship game for both teams. A&M is second in the Eastern Division standings with a 3-1 record. Jackson State is currently behind them with a 2-2 conference record and 6-16 overall mark.

Mikayla Rolle leads Jackson State with 3.64 kills per game.

Last time these two teams met, AAMU knocked off the Blue and White 3-2 ending JSU's chance for their fifth straight conference streak over the Lady Bulldogs.
