A&M Volleyball Prepares for SWAC Championship

NORMAL - The 2013 Southwestern Athletic Conference women's volleyball tournament is set to kick off on Saturday, Nov. 23, on the campus of Jackson State University. The two-day event will be held at the Lee E. Williams Athletics & Assembly Center and the T.B. Ellis Physical Education Center.

The championship match will take place on Sunday, Nov. 24, at 3 p.m., and will be broadcast on ESPNU (tape delay).

The eight-team SWAC volleyball tournament field has been set with Alabama State (SWAC East) and Texas Southern (SWAC West) earning No. 1 seeds.

The Lady Bulldogs (8-19, 5-3 SWAC East) will play the No. 3 seed from the west, Prairie View A&M, on Friday, Nov. 23 at 9 a.m. Prairie View enters the tournament with a 5-18 (4-4 SWAC West) mark.

Alabama A&M and Arkansas-Pine Bluff earned No. 2 seeds, while Jackson State and Prairie View A&M earned No. 3 seeds. Rounding out the field at the No. 4 seeds is Mississippi Valley and Southern.
