A&M falls 82-65 to East Tennessee State

JOHNSON CITY -- Brittney Strickland notched a game high 22 points in Alabama A&M's 82-65 loss to East Tennessee State on Friday at Brooks Gym.

Strickland added three assists during the game, shooting 6-of-14 form the field and 3-of-7 from outside the arc. Jasmine Sanders joined Strickland in double figure scoring for AAMU (0-5) with 14 points. Sanders posted seven rebounds and one block in her 22 minutes of play.

The Maroon and White were unable to take the lead in either half, finishing with 27 points in the first set of minutes and 38 points in the final half.

AAMU loss the rebounding battle with 43-29 to ETSU (2-3) and fell behind 28-19 in shots made from the field.

The win gave the Bucs their second win on the season. Serena Clark led ETSU with a career-high 21 points with 11 boards. Brianna McQueen added 15 points with six assist and Shamauria Bridges tallied 12 points to also put up double digits.

The game was decided as the Bucs topped AAMU in points in the paint (42-22), points off turnovers (33-16) second-chance points (25-8), fast break points (14-4) and bench points (24-10).
