Women’s Basketball Heads to the Bayou State

AAMU Overall Stats

Normal – The Lady Bulldogs basketball team will travel to the Bayou state before taking time off for the Christmas break. A&M will face the Lady Techsters of Louisiana Tech University on Sunday, December 22, at 2 p.m.

In their last contest the Maroon and White basketball team captured their second straight win of the year with an 81-78 victory over the Lady Bulldogs of South Carolina State Tuesday evening.
 
Brittney Strickland finished with a team high 21 points and four rebounds while her sister, Alyssa, put up a season high 17 points.  Shabr'an Richardson posted a season high of 15 points with Taylor Sippial adding her season high of 14 to round out the double digit scorers for A&M.
 
Strickland currently leads the team in scoring with 15.8 points per game and a field goal percentage of 51%. She also leads the squad with 4.4 assists per game. Senior forward Jasmine Sanders is second on the team in scoring averaging 10.2 points per contest and tops in rebounding with 7.3 rebounds per game.

McNeese State used a 19-0 run to erase a double digit deficit as the Cowgirls defeated Louisiana Tech 63-51 at Burton Coliseum on Tuesday night.
 
The Lady Techsters will return to the court Friday when they host UALR at 6:30 p.m. at the Thomas Assembly Center, before meeting A&M.
