A&M Women's Basketball Falls to Ga. Tech 93-56

ATLANTA – The Bulldogs women's basketball team (0-6) dropped its sixth straight game of the year, losing to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (6-2), 93-56, at McCamish Pavilion on Saturday evening.
 
A 14-2 run would put Tech ahead, 27-6 with 12:25 remaining in the first half. A&M then strung together eight-straight points to climb within 13 of the Jackets' 27-14 lead. Tyaunna Marshall would put Tech back on top, 38-18, after recording nine points in a span of 3:18. Heading into halftime, the Jackets lead 51-29.
 
Ga. Tech would put together a 9-0 run of their own from the 15:49 mark to 14:12 in the second half to extend its advantage to 67-31.
 
The Jackets' lead would stretch to as large as 40 points in the second half at the 10:23 mark when Dawnn Maye would pull up for a jumper to push Tech ahead, 77-37.
 
Overall, the Jackets shot 50 percent from the field (31-for-62) and outscored AAMU, 25-8, on fast breaks.
 
The Maroon and White were lead on offense by Brittney Strickland who scored 18 points. Strickland also grabbed a team-high six rebounds while Taylor Sippial recorded four assists.
 
AAMU will have a seven day break before returning to the court due to finals. Alabama A&M will host Murray State University on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m in Elmore Gymnasium.
