NORMAL – Newly minted women's basketball coach Semeka Randall announced the addition of a late signee, Alasha Foster to her roster for the 2013-14 season. Foster will enroll on campus and participate in preseason workouts.

"I'm extremely excited to have this young lady join the Alabama A&M women's basketball program," said Randall. "In addition to the very talented young ladies we have returning, she is going to help us make great strides."

Foster, a 5-foot-10 post player, attended Seventy First High School in Fayetteville, NC, and led her squad to the 3A North Carolina State playoffs.

"I am very excited to be a part of the Alabama A&M women's basketball program." Foster mentioned.

Foster joins the Lady Bulldogs after playing for Coach Tracie Taylor and the Seventy-First High Falcons. As a senior, she averaged 10.7 points per game and 12 rebounds per contest.

During her senior campaign, she helped her team achieve a 28-1 record.

"Alasha is a strong, athletic forward," said Randall in her evaluation of Foster.

"She's been a part of one of the most prestigious AAU programs. She brings not only a great ability, but also an extremely high basketball IQ."

A&M did not lose any scholarship players from last season, and will have two seniors, Alyssa Strickland and Jasmine Sanders going into the new year.
