Normal - Alabama A&M volleyball heads to West Lafayette, Indiana this weekend to begin their 2013 campaign.
The team will begin play in the Mortar Board Premier Invitational hosted by Purdue University.
Up first for the Lady Bulldogs is Western Kentucky. Play begins on Friday, Aug. 30th at 6 p.m. WKU finished last season with a 33-4 record. After the Lady Toppers, the Maroon and White will face the Boilermakers of Purdue, who were 23-11 in 2012. Match two will begin 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its preseason coaches' poll; Purdue is ranked No. 16 in the preseason listing.
The final game for A&M will be against the University of Southern California. Last year, the Trojans appeared in their fourth NCAA regional final in six years. USC finished in third place in the Pac-12 with a 15-5 record (30-6 overall). USC women's volleyball team received the No. 4 ranking in the AVCA Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll.
