Charleston, S.C. - On day two of the 2013 College of Charleston Holiday Inn Classic the Lady Bulldogs fell to the UNC Asheville Bulldogs 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-19) in their first match on Saturday morning at the TD Arena.
In her first match of the day junior Maria Ramos, had a career high nine kills against UNC-Asheville. Ashundria McNeal tallied seven kills for the Lady Bulldogs with Savanna Blackiston chipping in five.
Setter Ashley Forman posted 23 assists for the Maroon & White.
As a team AAMU hit .113 on 26 kills while attempting 97. Rebecca Cortez tallied 13 digs on defense.
In the final game of the day against the SMU Mustangs, the Lady Bulldogs fell 28-19, 25-16, 25-13 to drop their third match of the tournament. Leslie Ekpe led the way for the Maroon & White with eight kills, while McNeal and Ramos had seven and five respectively.
AAMU tallied 31 digs and eight blocks as a team. The Lady Bulldogs setter Ashley Forman had another double digit assist day totaling 25 and recorded six digs as well.
With the loss the Lady Bulldogs drops to 0-14 on the season. The Nedra Brown squad will now prepare for their first home game of the year on Tuesday, Sept. 24, against the University of Tennessee Martin at the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium beginning at 7 p.m.
