Volleyball to Participate in the Memphis Tournament

NORMAL – The Lady Bulldog volleyball team travels to Memphis, Tennessee this weekend for three matches in the University of Memphis Invitational Tournament.

The Maroon & White will take the court on Friday, Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. against host the University of Memphis, then at 4 p.m. the Nedra Brown led squad will challenge Southeastern Louisiana.

On Saturday, Sept. 8, at 3 p.m. A&M will play Western Carolina. All three matches will be played at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse.

Over the weekend the A&M volleyball recorded their first three losses of the 2013 season after falling to No. 21 Western Kentucky in straight sets and then to No. 16 Purdue at the Mortar Board Premier. The fourth-ranked USC women's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 sweep of the Lady Bulldogs at Holloway Gymnasium in the final contest.

Leslie Ekpe leads the team with 23 kills (2.56 per set) while Ashley Forman has recorded a team-high 49 assists in nine matches.
