Men's Tennis Competitive at Troy and Pointe University


NORMAL -- The Bulldog tennis team battled hard over the weekend, but couldn't execute well enough against a very solid Troy & Pointe University.

Troy University was the first school to host A&M. Carlos Salas opened his second match up 1-0 but couldn't sustain throughout falling 6-0, 6-1.
 
In the number three position Karen Khachatryan of Troy University defeated AAMU's Farai Chiridza 6-1, 6-0.  Chiridza fought hard but was hobbled by a severe leg injury.
 
Troy would go on win doubles and captured the annual event between the two teams.

Versus Point University Domonique Alexander, who plays in the first position for A&M, force Rafa Hewett into extra play falling 7-5 and 6-3 after the two hour battle.
 
Salas was once again involved in a battle on the court with PU's Ben Markowski. PU's number two player would go on to claim a 6-1, 6-3 win over Alabama A&M's number two.
 
Doubles would be eventful for both teams as both matches would go over an hour and a half resulting in the favor of the Seahawks 8-4 and 8-4.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Feb 13th when they travel to take on Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
