Women’s Basketball Travels to the Lone Star State

NORMAL – The Alabama A&M women's basketball team closes the 2013-14 road regular season portion of the schedule at Prairie View A&M (10-14, 10-4 SWAC) on Saturday, March 1, at 3 p.m. in Prairie View, Texas.
 
The Bulldogs will look to use their winning momentum when they face the Lady Panthers.
 
A&M is currently fourth in points, and second in steals in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Jasmine Sanders ranks in the top-10 in the league in points (13.6 ppg) and rebounds (7.8 rpg). Most recently, Sanders recorded her sixth double-double of her career versus Alcorn State with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
 
For PV, Shamiya Brooks hit a pair of free throws with eight seconds remaining in Prairie View's 73-70 win over Mississippi Valley on Monday at the Leflore County Civic Center.
 
Brooks tallied 11 points in the win as four other players tacked on double digits for the Panthers. Jeanette Jackson led all scorers with 19 points, shooting 4-of-5 from the free throw line.

Prairie View shot well from the line, going 26-of-29 for a season high 89 percent.
