Alabama A&M Visits UAPB, Monday Night

NORMAL -- The Alabama A&M University men's basketball team will continue its two game road swing on Monday, January, 12 taking on the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff at the H.O. Clemmons Arena. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Series: This will be the 40th meeting between Alabama A&M and Arkansas Pine-Bluff. Last year, the Bulldogs fell to the Golden Lions 64-61, in Pine-Bluff.

The Opponent: University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff dropped their fourth straight contest as Alabama State held on for a 74-71 win over the Golden Lions, Saturday afternoon at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.  UAPB finished the first half shooting 50.0 percent (15-of-30), while ASU shot 45.5 percent (10-of-22) as the Golden Lions went into the break leading the Hornets 36-29 at the half. UAPB had four Golden Lions to finish the contest in double-figures with Marcel Mosley scoring a team high 19 points, followed by JoVaughn Love with 16.
 
Bulldogs Taking on the Big Boys: This season, the Bulldogs faced against teams from the so-called "power conferences."  The Bulldogs took on Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech of the Atlantic Coast Conference, as well as Big East member Marquette. 

Bulldogs on the Road: The Bulldogs are 1-8 in true road contests, including a 1-0 mark in conference play.

Bulldogs Picked to Finish Seventh: The Bulldogs, coming off of last season's fifth-place finish,were picked to finish seventh in the SWAC this season, picking up one first-place vote in the preseason poll voted on by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.
