Late UAPB goal drops Lady Bulldogs

HUNTSVILLE -- The Lady Bulldogs went on an emotional roller-coaster in a span of about 30 seconds Sunday in a stunning 2-1 loss to Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Trailing 1-0 with less than four minutes to play, Estelle Esperance tied the score on her fourth goal of the season.

On  the play, Esperance carried the ball on goal, drew the UAPB keeper out and moved around her to shoot into the empty net.

The score lifted the Lady Bulldogs, who had trailed since the first minute when the Lady Lions took the lead.

However, their celebration quickly dampened when UAPB answered back. The Lions scored at 86:51 - 38 seconds after A&M tied the game - on a rebound shot which proved to be the game winner.

The Lady Bulldogs return to action this weekend with matches at Jackson State on Friday and Southern on Sunday.
