BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Lady Bulldogs went toe-to-toe for more than 65 minutes Sunday with Southern University and trailed just 1-0.

But the Jaguars scored a pair of goals in a 7-minute span for a 3-0 lead en route to a 4-1 win over Alabama A&M.

Andrea Chacon netted the lone goal for the Lady Bulldogs on a penalty kick in the 77th minute to cut Southern's lead to 3-1.

The Lady Bulldogs had 14 shots (five by Fatmata Mansaray and four from Estelle Esperance) to 15 for Southern. Mansaray had two of A&M's six shots on goal. The Lady Jags had 10 shots on goal and A&M goalkeeper Lauren Crosby made six saves.

A&M returns to action this Friday for the annual Think Pink game. Alcorn State visits The Hill for the 3 p.m. match.

On Sunday, it's Senior Day for the Lady Bulldogs as several players will be making their final appearance on Lady Bulldogs Field. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
