Match 2 vs. North Carolina A&T
The second match took a big step in a positive direction Friday afternoon as the Bulldogs won a five-set thriller (21-25, 16-25, 25-21, 25-22, 15-11) over North Carolina A&T. It looked as though the Aggies would have the upper hand after a two-set deficit. However, the Lady Bulldogs rebounded with a superb all-around effort against A&T in the third set making it 2-1.

A&M led for much of the fourth set, and with a 23-22 lead, they took advantage of two A&T errors at the end of the frame to force a fifth set.

The final set featured four ties and four lead changes before the Lady Bulldogs finally emerged victorious. Trailing 5-3, the Aggies ripped off four straight points to go in front 7-5. However, this was A&T's last lead before the Lady Bulldogs responded. Three kills by Senior Ashundria McNeal, a service error by the Aggies and a kill by Sophomore Tamar Davis put the Maroon and White back in front 13-9. After AAMU forced an A&T error, a kill from McNeal secured the victory.

Offense/Defense
McNeal led the way with 14 kills, while Sophomore Jaelin Gant recorded 9. Junior Riley Balsmeyer tallied 17 assists and Davis followed with 9. Junior Hannah Balsmeyer, Gant and McNeal all tied for seven digs. Sophomore Indonesia Jordan led the defense with one solo block and three assisted.

Match 1 vs. University of Maryland Eastern Shore
In the day's first match, A&M took an early 3-1 lead in the first set, but the University of Maryland Eastern Shore rallied with five unanswered points, and never looked back to take the first set 25-15. In the second set, the Hawks started with a 3-0 lead and extended it to 15-9, but A&M went on a 3-0 run to trim the lead 15-12.

A&M rallied to take the lead, but the Hawks recorded seven unanswered points and took the second game 25-15. In the final set, A&M led six times and tied with the Hawks six times. Though the Lady Bulldogs battled, their efforts came up short as they fell 25-15.

Offense/Defense
Despite the loss, Junior Courtney Oliver was the top hitter for the Lady Bulldogs with a .600 hitting percentage including three kills on five attacking attempts and no attack errors.   McNeal posted a team-best 13.5 points, and took 31 swings and connected for 11 kills. Riley Balsmeyer recorded 19 assists, while Hannah Balsmeyer had six digs.

The defense collected four blocks with McNeal leading the way with three assisted blocks. Oliver and Freshman Terra Brooks accounted for two assisted blocks each while Jordan was responsible for the eighth blocking assist. Hannah Balsmeyer led the defensive rotation with six digs.
