ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Andrea Chacon scored her first goal of the season Sunday but the Lady Bulldogs dropped a 4-1 decision at the University of North Carolina-Asheville.

The match was the final nonconference game for the Lady Bulldogs (1-8) who begin their 10-game Southwestern Athletic Conference schedule next weekend with visits to Texas Southern on Friday and Prairie View A&M next Sunday.

Chacon's goal came on a penalty kick in the 66th minute with Alabama A&M trailing 3-0.

The penalty kick was set up when Asheville's Erica Belforti received a red card. Just before the red card, Asheville goalkeeper Keller Dixon made a save on a shot by A&M's Alexus Lawson.

For A&M, Margret Sesay had two shots on goal and Chacon, Lawson, Chamyce Hall and Estelle Esperance each had one.

The Lady Bulldogs' six shots on goal matched a season high set in the opening match against Mercer.
