Lady Bulldogs take tough loss at Georgia State

Box Score ATLANTA -- In perhaps their best-played game this season, the Lady Bulldogs dropped a close 1-0 game Friday to Georgia State.

"We are looking better and better," said Head Coach Frank Davies. "We played well as a unit with good passes and creating opportunities as a team."

The lone goal of the match came off a corner kick at 22:39 of the first half.

"Alex (goalkeeper Alexandra Desgagne) saved the corner," Davis said. "Only to see them get to the rebound before we did."

The Panthers dominated the game with seven corner kicks while A&M had none.

The Lady Bulldogs had a season-high 9 shots - three on goal - and Georgia State had 12 shots with Desgagne making three saves.

Margret Sesay, making her season debut, had three shots with one on goal. She was the Southwestern Athletic Conference co-Freshman of the Year in 2014. Fatmata Mansaray, also making her debut, had two shots - one on goal.

The Lady Bulldogs will visit the University of Alabama-Huntsville on Sunday at 1 p.m.
