Outlook
This weekend, the scoreboard lights up in the Alabama A&M Student Health & Wellness Center for the first time this year, as Alabama A&M volleyball team hosts Jackson State and Mississippi Valley in a pair of home Southwestern Athletic Conference matches.

The Lady Bulldogs are coming off a competitive performance weekend as they had two close road matches against UAPB and Grambling State, taking both matches. They defeated the UAPB Lady Lions 3-1 Friday, before securing the win against Grambling Saturday in five sets (3-2).

Stepping Up
Senior outside hitter Ashundria McNeal is holding her own among the nation's best, as she ranks No. 22 in the country in total points with 271. This past weekend, she helped the Lady Bulldogs secure the wins with 47 kills and a .275 hitting percentage.  She also added seven blocks with 18 digs.  Junior Riley Balsmeyer presence was felt as she ended the weekend with 70 assists and 13 digs. Sophomore Jaelin Gant contributed nine digs, eight kills, and two aces as classmate Tamar Davis had five kills and 15 digs. Freshman Terra Brooks added nine kills and three digs for the Lady Bulldogs.

 The Opponents
Jackson State:
The Tigers enter the match 1-13 overall. In the SWAC, the Tigers are 1-2 after falling to Prairie View A&M (1-3) and Texas Southern (0-3) over the weekend. The Tigers picked up their first SWAC win against MVSU on Sept. 16 (3-1). Jackson State had 75 kills with a .156 hitting percentage in their last two matches.

Mississippi Valley: The Devilettes enter the match 2-10 overall and 0-3 in the SWAC. They fell to Prairie View A&M Sunday (0-3) before defeating the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University (3-1) Tuesday. The Devilettes had 92 digs, 72 kills, and 68 assists in their last two matches. Overall, MVSU has a .242 hitting percentage.
