HUNTSVILLE -- The Bulldogs came oh-so-close Wednesday night to their first win of the season.

Led by a game-high 18 points from Quinterian McConico, A&M led through much of the game against Grambling, including a 38-31 lead at the half.

With 4:14 to go in the game, McConico's layup put the Bulldogs up 62-57.

However, the Tigers went on a 10-1 run over the next three minutes en route to a 69-67 win.

The Bulldogs moved out to a 46-37 lead in the early going of the second half as McConico and Evan Wiley put on a dunking exhibition with three slams.

McConico also had a game-high eight rebounds. De'Ederick Petty scored 13 points in the game for A&M and Rakiya Battle had six assists to go with his seven points.

The Bulldogs hit the road this weekend to take on Mississippi Valley State on Saturday and Arkansas-Pine Bluff next Monday.
