Bulldogs Fall to Western Carolina, 82-72

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – Three players scored in double figures for the Alabama A&M University men's basketball team, but it wasn't enough as they dropped an 82-72 decision in a late comeback effort against Western Carolina Saturday afternoon in a Barclays Center Classic battle at Niagara University.
 
Junior Arthur Johnson led with 18 points for the Bulldogs (0-6) and he also finished with four rebounds and one assist.
 
The Maroon and White also received 15 points from Evan Wiley on 4-of-10 shooting from the field, 2-of-3 from the three point line and 5-of-5 from the charity stripe. Wiley also led the Bulldogs with eight rebounds. De'Ederick Petty contributed 11 points, four rebounds and four assists for AAMU. Amari Goulbourne and Marcus Merriweather each added seven points, respectively.
 
Western Carolina (2-5) had four players score in double figures and were led by Devin Peterson's game-high 21 points.

The Bulldogs will head back to Huntsville and prepare to host Georgia State on Nov. 29 for its home opener of the season. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
