Bulldogs fall to Georgia State in home opener

Box Score HUNTSVILLE -- Alabama A&M's De'Ederick Petty led all scorers with 16 points but visiting Georgia State pulled away in the second half en route to a 63-53 win Wednesday at Elmore Gym.

Andre Kennedy added 10 points for the Bulldogs in the home opener.

The Bulldogs took the early lead in the game and led 14-7 midway through the first half.

But Georgia State nibbled away at the A&M advantage and the two teams went into halftime tied at 29-29.

The Panthers and Bulldogs were nip-and-tuck in the opening minutes of the second half before Georgia State started to pull away.

The Bulldogs are on the road Saturday at Austin Peay. The game tips off at 3:30 p.m. and can be heard on WJAB-FM 90.9 with Michael Burns on the play-by-play.

A&M visits DePaul on Dec. 11 and returns to Elmore Gym on Dec. 13 to take on Southern Miss. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
