BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Alabama A&M women's basketball team will travel to Birmingham for a 4 p.m. matchup with the UAB Blazers at Bartow Arena.

The Lady Bulldogs are 1-0 against the Conference USA, after a 58-51 win over Florida International University at the FIU Thanksgiving Tournament on Nov. 25.

A&M is off to a 4-4 start, the first time since 2011 the Lady Bulldogs have won four non-conference games to open a season.

LAST TIME OUT: The Lady Bulldogs are coming off a 49-33 loss to Jacksonville State on Dec. 12. Tierra Dark led the way for the Bulldogs in the loss with 10 points and three rebounds. Kanisha Tharpe had a team-high six rebounds.

ABOUT ALABAMA A&M: Ashlyn Dotson is the leading scorer with a 8.0 points-per-game average and Nigeria Jones averages 7.8 ppg. Tharpe averages 6.0 rebounds a game to lead the team and is ranked 6th in the SWAC in the rebounding category. Lauren McKee's 3.8 assists per game is ranked 5th in the SWAC.

ABOUT UAB: The Blazers (7-2) return home after a 64-62 loss at Memphis. Deanna Kuzmanic led the charge for the Blazers' offense against the Tigers, finishing the game with 16 points on 6-for-12 shooting and four assists.

UAB is 4-0 on its home court with their last home victory being against Samford on Dec. 7. The Blazers' defeated Samford, 77-53.

ALABAMA A&M vs. UAB: The two programs have met a total of six times with UAB leading the all-time series, 6-0.

LAST MEETING: The last meeting between the two teams was on Nov 12, 2012 when the Lady Bulldogs dropped a 72-53 decision to the Blazers'.
