CLARKSVILLE, TN--- Alabama A&M men's basketball team is back in action on Saturday afternoon with a trip to Austin Peay University. Tipoff at the Dunn Center is set for 3:30 pm on the OVC Digital Network. The teams are meeting for the first time ever. The Bulldogs are coming off a 63-53 loss to Georgia State, while Austin Peay is entering the game after a 63-79 loss at Oklahoma State.
About the Bulldogs
De'Ederick Petty led all scoring in the contest against Georgia State with 16 points. Andre Kennedy added 10 points and nine rebounds. Arthur Johnson led the team with 11 rebounds in the match. Â Alabama A&M is shooting 40.0% from the field and they are hitting 38.8% from beyond the arc. From the free throw line, the Bulldogs are hitting 64.3%. Â Johnson is pacing the Bulldogs with 13.4 ppg and 4.6 rebounds ppg. Petty is second in scoring with 13.3 ppg and he leads AAMU with a .839 free throw percentage.
Scouting the Governors
Against Oklahoma State, Austin Peay was led by freshman Dayton Gumm who had 19 points and Terry Taylor had 15 points and 11 rebounds. The Governors are 3-1 at home and are averaging at least 7.8 ppg at home. As a team, Austin Peay is averaging 91.0 ppg at home and hitting 51.7 percent from the floor. Gumm is averaging 21 ppg and was added to the starting lineup just two games ago. Â
